Stark black and white, heavy grain

Monochrome strips every design down to stark black-and-white photographic texture, heavy 35mm film grain and crushed blacks, as though shot on pushed stock for a documentary. The lyric sits low in the frame over the darkest area, in condensed uppercase type. Colour research still shapes the image, but only as tonal placement, never as hue, so the result is unapologetically greyscale. It fits indie, post-punk, shoegaze and alternative music best. The technique, the low-lyric layout and the uppercase type stay fixed; the subject and its greyscale tone shift with every song.
